The latest email scam looks like this:

 

Good afternoon,

Please take a look at the attached document ASAP.

And have a nice day.

 

The email has an attachment that is a fake google drive HTML page that saves locally to your machine and then kicks off a download of a ZIP file with a message providing a password to open the file.

Inside the file is an ISO file, a disc image that then runs the actual payload virus

I received this email with a legit client’s email address in the FROM display name but a junk email address and strangely my email signature was in the email

As usual, you are fine as long as you don’t run the downloaded file with the HTML document, and as a reminder, here is a quick video that showcases how to easily diagnose a fake phishing email
