New business IT setup, answered directly
By Joe Engelking, CEO. Updated October 2026.
What does IT setup cost for a new business?
We price it as a flat monthly plan based on your people, devices, and what you need to protect, so there is no one-size price. After a short discovery call we send a quote the same day. There are no surprise line items, and you will know what you are paying before you start.
What IT does a new business need before opening?
A company domain and email, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, computers set up and secured, a network and Wi-Fi, a phone solution, backups, and multifactor authentication on every account. Setting these up once, correctly, is much cheaper than rebuilding later after problems appear.
Who should own the accounts when an IT provider sets up my business?
You should. Your domain name, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant, and business data belong to your company, not the IT provider. Ask for admin-level access and written documentation of where everything is registered, so you can change providers later without losing anything.
How long does it take to set up IT for a new business?
It depends on the number of people, locations, and systems. A small office can be set up quickly, while a business with several locations or specialized equipment takes longer. We give you a timeline after a short call about what you are opening and when.
| Setup item | What gets done | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Domain and email | Company domain and a professional mailbox for everyone | Customers see a real business, and you own the address |
| Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace | Licensed, configured, and secured | Email, files, and collaboration work from day one |
| Computers and network | Devices set up, updated, and protected, with a secure network | Staff can work right away |
| Security | Multifactor authentication and backups from the start | Stops the most common break-ins |
| Phones | A business phone system that fits your team | Customers can always reach you |

You do not want to spend your first month becoming an IT person instead of running your business.
→ We handle it, so you do not have to.

New Business IT, Answered
I do not know anything about computers. Is that a problem?
No. That is the point. You tell us what your business does, and we handle the technical decisions.
Do I need to buy a server or any special equipment?
In almost every case, no. Everything runs in the cloud through Google or Microsoft, so a laptop or computer you already own is enough.
What if I am not hiring anyone yet?
We build for wherever you are today, even if that is just you, and it grows cleanly as you add people.
Can this grow with my business later?
Yes. The systems we set up for a one-person business are the same systems used by companies with fifty employees. You will not have to start over.
What does it cost?
It depends on your team size and licensing needs. Request a consultation and we will walk you through exact numbers, no pressure and no sales pitch.
